Water Pollution - Environmental Impact
The effects of water pollution can be seen in bodies of water and animal and plant life. Water pollutants poison and deform fish and other animals. They create unbalance in ecosystems. which result in less biodiversity among the species, which further change the ecosystems. Furthermore, water pollution leads to a variety of health problems such as skin damage, circulatory problems, blindness, nausea. It has been linked to the increased risk of cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin, liver, and prostate. Long-term exposure to contaminated water can result in delays of physical and mental development in children and can cause kidney problems in adults.
