Organic Waste - Features
Composting is a process of bacteria, insects, and fungus working together to create mulch that improves the soil and in turn the environment. Compost can be produced without spending money, and, in fact, it can save people money by avoiding fertilizers and other soil enhancers. Common compost materials consist of grass clippings, leaves, manure, ashes, and kitchen scraps such as melon rinds, carrot peelings, tea bags, apple cores, and banana peels. In addition, spoiled hay or straw also makes an excellent carbon base to produce a nutrient-rich composting material.
